  • The 2022 Frontenac Blanc Harvest was substantial, and the fruit was a pleasure to work with. To date, this Yield of 3.280 Tonnes has been the highest recorded of this Varietal off the Estate - and almost doubling the previous record.

Pressed out and then fermented over a quick 96 Hours, the F.Blanc was eager to head to Elevage. For the 22 La Crescent, we held back 100L of Unfermented Juice after Production on October 12th 2022. We stored it in our cooler at 3'c to inhibit any fermentation. Light sulphuring was also done over the span of 7 Months to ensure the fermentation didn't happen. When the “Vista Chill” Wine was developed, there was left over Sussreserve so discussions of innovation began ... With the Canadian Oak Program rolling along with “Jim”, the Cellar Team was delighted to add another Barrel Aged White to the portfolio. Utilizing the 22 Frontenac Blanc as the base (84%), the Cellar Team then blended in 22 La Crescent Sussreserve Wine (16%) and “June” was born on May 9th/2023. By design, the Cellar Team used a barrel that was previously home to Red Wine. Often frowned apon, this was done purposefully to bring some “Rose Gold” hues to “June”.

As the wine rested, Malo Fermentation was very active and the bung to the barrel was blown to the ceiling even with an airlock! The Cellar Team allowed the Ferm to finish, racked the wine off the lees, rinsed the barrel and then “June” re- entered the Barrel to rest for a Total of 9 Months.

With a light fining and filtering schedule, “June” was bottled alongside the Elevage Mate :“Jim” on April 29th/2024.
