  • Rows 8 - 14 Marquette from East Vineyard were planted in 2015 and these plants were part of the initial planting of the Vineyard. There are 175 Plants. Rows 15 - 24 Marquette adjacent were planted in 2016. There are 250 plants.

There is difference in plant size and grape yield from the North to the South in this Block. The grape clusters and sugar content in the first 10 plants in Rows 8 - 18 (closest to the Inn) are by and far different than the Northernmost plants in said rows. Questions surrounding the tiling of the Vineyard also begs the question if the Northernmost plants are working harder to seek out water. Beyond the grape cluster size and sugar content, the profile of the grapes in the East Vineyard tend to show more bright red fruity notes vs. the Middle Block West Vineyard.

Initially intended to become a true "Blanc de Noir" (White from Dark) - this "Sortarosa" is the happy result. At processing time, a slow and tender press was initiated to minimize the skin contact of the juice. Ultimately, this wine was treated like a white wine from start to finish - including a 28 Day Term in the Lean-to for Cold Stabilization in Jan/Feb. A decent amount of potassium bitartrates and were removed during this process.
