Vineyard Information: Our Frontenac Gris (12 Rows planted in 2017) and our La Crescent (11 Rows planted in 2018) from the West Vineyard, were used in this initial “St. Joe’s White” blend. Frontenac Gris grapes tend to darken and take on a “pinkish hue” later in the season and to the untrained eye, one may assume they are a red varietal. Each variety had a great Vintage in their respective years. The Frontenac Gris was the first of our Whites to be Oak Aged. In future Vintages, we will be showcasing each of these varieties solo to help hone in on the details of each Block year to year with their respective influence from that growing season. Year to Year, the St. Joe’s White Blend will evolve to our winemakers palate and to what may best represent it.
